Sparking Engagement Through

Social Media

I build engaged communities and establish brands as trusted thought leaders through strategic social media presence across key industry platforms. By leveraging market insights and authentic conversations, I create content that resonates with target audiences while positioning brands as go-to resources within their verticals. My approach focuses on cultivating genuine relationships, learning from community feedback, discovering emerging content creators, and fostering lasting connections that often extend to coordinating real-world meetups at industry events. I believe developing brands that people genuinely want to follow and consider integral parts of their community is one of the most rewarding parts about social media.

Lead Enterprise Strategy

Below is the social media strategy deck I presented to the K12 Coalition enterprise team, outlining our strategic approach to building brand authority, engaging key audiences, and driving meaningful community engagement across industry platforms.

This presentation focuses on how to bring different business units together for cross-collaboration under one unified brand umbrella. The strategy centers on helping our communities understand the connections between our various offerings and how we can better serve them through coordinated social efforts.

If you would like to see the complete deck with detailed implementation plans, cross-functional collaboration frameworks, and supporting research, please feel free to request access.

As part of this social strategy, I developed a comprehensive social media policy from scratch that establishes clear guidelines for all team members across our various business units.

This policy framework balances employee empowerment with brand protection through five core pillars that align with company values while ensuring consistent brand representation. It extends coverage to external partners and consultants, creating a unified approach that strengthens our position as a trusted resource in the education community.

The complete social media policy document is available upon request.

Strategy + Management

In addition to leading the K12 Coalition social media strategy, I manage our Teaching Channel social media manager to drive strategic growth for this key business unit and establish our brand as the definitive authority in educator professional development. I guide our approach to building authentic community connections, identifying and partnering with key education influencers, and leveraging teacher advocates to amplify our reach and credibility. Under my direction, we are expanding Teaching Channel's presence across B2B platforms, positioning this business unit as the go-to resource and connection hub for educators while fostering meaningful relationships that extend beyond digital engagement into real-world professional networks and industry events.

Community Growth

Before Insight ADVANCE merged with Teaching Channel, I built a connected educator community through social media by prioritizing real engagement over empty follows. Launching and facilitating the Twitter chat #ADVANCEChat helped deepen these authentic connections, turning online conversations into meaningful in-person interactions at conferences, collaborations on projects, and often direct business opportunities. This approach proved that meaningful interaction, combined with delivering content the audience truly values, strengthens communities, builds trust, and drives long-term business impact. By listening closely, engaging authentically, and refining content through audience insights, I ensured our strategy created both genuine connections and measurable results.

Content Creation +

Leveraged Advocates

At Tes Teach, a product under Tes, I managed content creation and campaigns to engage teachers, including interactive contests and giveaways. My work was hands-on; I conceptualized each campaign and produced all the visuals and copy that brought it to life. I also created and managed a private Facebook group for teacher advocates, where I leveraged their feedback to amplify our campaigns, helping to build a fun and engaged community hub for educators.

Content Creation + Ads

At Insitome, a direct-to-consumer genomics company, I specialized in creating and managing both organic and paid social media campaigns. My core responsibility was to translate complex scientific information into visually compelling and accessible content for advertising. I focused on developing engaging visuals for ads, ensuring each piece of content simplified genetics concepts while driving consumer interest and building brand awareness.

Corporate / Exec Management

I managed and created corporate and executive social media content for eBay. My focus was on fostering a stronger company culture by celebrating employees and bringing them together in a fun way. My primary focus was on telling the story of eBay's vibrant culture from within. By highlighting key company initiatives on their news channels, I helped foster a sense of shared purpose and excitement, ensuring employees felt connected to the company's mission and celebrated for their role in its success.

Content Curation + Management

At The Cube, a fast paced video streaming start up in San Francisco, I was a key to the content curation and social media management. I regularly filed through and clipped videos from our app, adapting them for use on various social platforms. This hands-on, "boots-on-the-ground" role in a fast-paced environment allowed me to consistently deliver fresh content and effectively manage our social presence.

Channel Management

As a member of a media agency, I managed the social media for Whole Foods Market in Northern California, where I was responsible for over 20 individual store locations across Facebook and Twitter. This role required me to delve into the nuances of each community, crafting content that resonated with local customers. By paying close attention to what each audience valued and responded to, I was able to cultivate distinct online communities and ensure each store's social presence was a true reflection of its neighborhood.
